Great thinkers are sometimes great eaters. It could be applied to an anecdote with Nikola Tesla when he first started to work for Edison. We all remember his modest dieting and abstaining from meat, but this story is a bit different from when he was a student. Maybe he was a late bloomer, or this was only an isolated event, but in charge of the laboratory was a man named Fulton who told Tesla that he would employ him, but he really has to work. Tesla took it so literally that he had no sleep for forty-eight hours, so Fulton ordered him to rest but first suggested they get a good meal.
They went to a restaurant and ordered the biggest steaks that could be bought. But when they finished the meal, something in the student’s look led Mr. Fulton to ask him if he wanted something else. Tesla took a moment to think and then said: "Mr. Fulton if you don't mind, I would like another steak!"
