LETTER No1 - Nikola Tesla to uncle Pajo Mandic - Gospic (today’s Croatia), April 21st, 1892.

Dear uncle,

I have received your letter now. I don't need to tell you that I am extremely sad, but I console myself as much as I can.

I had predicted this sad event for a long time, but the impact was still heavy. I have always hoped that my mother would live for a long time because she was strong, and my and my uncle's success strengthened her a lot.

I was very sorry that we could not meet two years ago when I passed through Slavonia with that intention.

This time I'll make sure I don't miss you, and I'll let you know when we can meet!
