Varaždin is a city in northwestern Croatia. Nikola Tesla visited Varaždin in 1892 and spent two days in the city as a guest of his uncle Pajo Mandić and his family. In the letters that Nikola Tesla exchanged with his uncle, it was noted that the uncle sent wine to Tesla from Varaždin to the United States, because Tesla loved wines from Varaždin.
