Tesla Wine

LETTER No3 - Nikola Tesla to uncle Pajo Mandic - New York, April 13, 1894.

Dear uncle,

I received your two letters correctly, but I could not answer because of a great deal of work. On this occasion, I just want to respond to you with a few lines, which I write in a hurry.

So far, there is nothing of wine, so as you said, all the bottles, both yours and those that uncle Trivun sent them, must have been broken. Don't send me Dalmatian wine in a barrel, I've already experimented with that, so it doesn't work.

The only way would be to send wine from Warasdin in bottles.

A few days ago, I received a gold medal for scientific merit from the Franklin Institute, and I think I wrote to you that a university here offered me a doctorate in philosophy. I know that you will be interested. Everything looks good here. I am doing very well with a few finds, and I hope to finish the work soon, and then I intend to rest there.

Best regards, Your Nikola

Note:

(1) Warazdin = Varazdin is part of today’s Croatia but at that

time it was part of Hungary so in his letter he uses this word
